Global Village

Architectural photography theory and practice, aims to bring the students to an awareness and mastery of the photographic language: learning to observe and understand what and how to photograph. The course will be divided into three parts: a theoretical introduction to the history of photography with a specific focus on photography in contemporary art, a practical part as well as fundamentals of digital post-production, and one dedicated to the development of individual exercises and group projects. The lessons – which will be held in English – will focus on technical, aesthetic and conceptual aspects of architectural photography. As a fnal group project, students will be invited to use the photographic language in order to explore, interpret and document cultural influences on architecture of „the global village of Graz“. The works produced will be discussed together and shown at the end of the course.
